Colorado Breeders Cup - Overview
The Colorado Breeders Cup
was established to help improve and promote the Arabian breed and to
increase the number of foals born in Colorado by providing significant
incentives for stallion owners, mare owners and owners of progeny of
nominated stallions. These progeny are promoted and showcased through show
ring, racing and endurance events that provide monetary reward for their
owners.
Stallion Owner:
- The CBC stallion
roster is open to all stallions that meet our criteria. Please see
rules for more details.
- Nominate your stallion
to the Colorado Breeders Cup by completing the
Stallion Nomination
Form and forwarding it on , via e-mail, mail or fax to Colorado Breeders

- When you donate one
(1) breeding from your stallion to the Colorado Breeders Cup:
- You may
pre-approve mares:
- You can designate
all non-stallion fees, i.e. shipping, etc.;
- Your nomination
may be tax deductible as an ordinary business expense;
- You will not have
to pay a nomination fee.
- When your stallion’s
breeding sells, you receive one “Stallion Certificate” for free entry
for any of you stallion’s progeny to use at your discretion.
- In addition, all
of your stallion’s progeny (five years and younger) are eligible to
compete in CBC events.
- A "Top Stallion Award"
is paid to the owner of the stallion whose progeny achieve the highest
point total for a competition year for all CBC events. Please see
“Rrules” for complete details.
Mare Owners:
- You can view updated
stallion breedings available for purchase on the stallion roster.
- To apply, please fill
out a
Breeding Purchase Form and forward via e-mail, mail or fax to:

- Breedings are sold on
a first come first serve basis to the designated mare.
- After your purchase
has been accepted by the CBC Stallion administration, you will receive
stallion contact information.
- Mare owners are
responsible for contacting stallion owners, coordinating the
contract and breeding schedule for the mare.
- Mare owners are
responsible for all fees other than breeding fee that may incur.
- You will receive one
“Foal Certificate” for the foal resulting from your breeding purchase.
This is good for entry into any CBC event.
Owners of Progeny of CBC
Stallions:
- Watch the stallion
list to see if the breeding to the sire of your progeny is sold. Only
progeny of sold stallions are considered eligible.
- You can enter any CBC
competition by paying a $100 entry fee, provided the progeny meets the
conditions of a given race, ride or class.
